Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about adoption, sponsorship, and donations at Sparkle’s Home.

How does the adoption process work now that you have a website?
It’s guided online in four steps:
  1. Sign up & take the Compatibility Assessment (so we understand your lifestyle).
  2. Get matched with recommended pets based on your results.
  3. Submit the adoption application on the Adopt page.
  4. Meet & adopt once screening is complete.
You’ll receive email updates at each step, and you can always check your application status in your account.
How long does approval usually take?
Typically 3–7 days, depending on screening, references, and (when needed) home verification and scheduling. We’ll notify you by email and you can also review updates in your account.
Where do I apply?
Go to the Adopt section of our website, take the assessment, then submit the online application for the pet you’re interested in.
What are the basic requirements to adopt?
A valid government ID, a stable pet-friendly living situation (if renting, please confirm your lease allows pets), and readiness to provide food, routine care, and veterinary treatment when needed. We’ll ask how you plan to handle vet visits, moving homes, and day-to-day care. (Per interview, homeowners are preferred for stability but responsible renters are considered.)
Are there adoption fees?
No adoption fees. If you’d like to help, voluntary donations are welcome—especially for food, vaccines, and spay/neuter. You can also sponsor a pet if you aren’t able to adopt right now.
What does the Compatibility Assessment do?
It aligns your home, schedule, and preferences with a pet’s temperament and needs (energy level, sociability, vocalization, etc.). This reduces mismatches—like adopting a vocal dog in a noise-sensitive setting—and improves long-term success.
How do you verify adopters’ identity and eligibility?
We review valid IDs and interview responses. When appropriate, we may discreetly validate addresses (e.g., checking the area) and confirm work details. The goal is to keep pets safe without being invasive.
Can I return a pet if things don’t work out?
Yes. If issues arise (e.g., noise complaints, time constraints), message us so we can help troubleshoot. If it still isn’t a fit, we will accept returns—our priority is the animal’s safety and well-being.
How do I sponsor or donate through the website?
Visit the Sponsor page to support a specific pet (ideal: per-pet sponsorship that covers food first, then spay/neuter and other medical needs), or the Donate page to contribute to overall rescue needs. You can indicate the purpose of your support during checkout.
How are sponsorships and donations tracked?
Today, tracking is mostly manual (e.g., GCash/passbook confirmations and admin messages). We’re rolling out clearer ledgers, per-pet sponsorship views, receipts, and transparency pages so you can see how help is used.
What security practices should I follow when using the site?
Always use our official website, double-check payment details in your account, and never share your OTP with anyone. Be wary of unsolicited links or calls; if something looks suspicious, contact us first. (Interview concern: scams and unsafe links.)
